Student results for 2021-22
UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE
Over the last three years, 70% of Greene’s students have been admitted into G5 and Russell Group universities. University destinations for Greene’s students have included: Oxford, Cambridge, University College London (UCL), King’s College London (KCL), Queen Mary London, Durham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Warwick, Exeter, Sheffield, and Southampton.
Greene’s students have also been accepted into a number of international institutions, including Berklee (Boston), Colgate University, Utrecht, Groningen, IE Business School (Madrid) and Les Roches.
A LEVEL EXAMINATION GRADES
Greene’s has a long history of academic excellence. Since 2019, 60% of all grades awarded to Greene’s students have been A* or A grades. As a non-selective college we expect our A level examination results to track the national average of the number and proportion of students achieving particular A level grades for the U.K. However, students who have taken tuition at Greene’s in the last academic year (2021-22) have gone on to achieve above the national average in A* and A grades – 41% of grades at Greene’s are A* or A grades.
A level retakes
Since 2019, of those students retaking A levels, every student achieved at least one grade uplift in each subject they were taking. Over 90% achieved a two-grade uplift and one-third of students achieved a three-grade uplift.

ACADEMIC FEEDBACK
Approximately 15,000 tutorial reports are submitted by our tutors each academic year. Over many years Greene’s has provided courses of individual tuition using selected tutors who give feedback to students by way of a written report after each tutorial. These tutorial reports – named ‘slips’ as they were originally small slips of paper – are the main way in which students are able to measure their progress.
Via our online reporting software called Greene’s Online, these reports are available to students and their parents and include an assessment of progress towards targeted examination grades and the student’s performance during the tutorial. Students can follow their progress tutorial by tutorial.
Students on short courses are asked to provide formal academic feedback after their course. During 2013-14 just over 20 responses were received showing that for most categories over 90% of students were either satisfied or very satisfied by their short course experience.

PLANNING AND TESTING
Sixth form students are now able to use Greene’s Online to view study plans for each one of their courses so as to measure their progress towards completing their course on schedule. They are also able to see the marked scripts and results for all of their practice or trial examinations: a sixth form student at Greene’s can take up to four invigilated trial exams in each subject over the course of the year.
The combination of detailed study plans and trial exam results are key elements for students to understand whether or not they are on track to both complete their courses and achieve their targeted examination grades.

Student Destinations
Over the past 50 years, Greene’s has helped over 1,000 students to achieve places at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Over the past eight years, nearly 80% of all students were admitted to their first-choice university.
In 2020-21, we achieved a 90% success rate and in the previous academic year a 100% success rate – the UCAS national average for students admitted to their first-choice universities was only 58%.
