Foundation Year
You may need a year to help you prepare for A level study or the Geoscience Diploma.
Enrolling in our one-year foundation course, either online or face-to-face, can help ensure that your proficiency in English language is sufficient for effective academic study; that your study skills are well developed to benefit from the tutorial method of learning; and that your academic level is high enough for you to succeed in A level study or on the Geoscience Diploma.
For students on the foundation year there are two routes:
Route 1: a course of group tutorials in each of your chosen A level subjects; or in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry if you are preparing for the Geoscience diploma; plus an EFL course of group tutorials and individual tutorials;
or, should your English language ability exceed an IELTS level of 6.0:
Route 2: a course of study skills, independent project work and an additional individual tutorials in your chosen A level subjects.
